Some of you might be familiar with the term auto tuned but how about Vocaloid?
This technology was actually introduced by Yamaha Corporation to the world in 2004. I actually did tried out version 1 of this software back in 2007 but it was kinda difficult to manipulate partly because I was using the Japanese version and there were still a lot of development problems. So I gave up using it since no one around me seems to appreciate this glitchy product that time..
Moving on I've found a nice clip that will give you a good introducton to Vocaloid if you have no idea what is it about.
Yes Japan is an interesting country they always like to personify things needless to say the lead persona of vocaloid is Hatsune Miku 初音ミク (first sound of future?) but do you know Hatsue Miku is not the first Vocaloid that came out.. Hatsune Miku debuted in 2007 before her there were two Vocaloids Leon and Lola along with a few others.. Only until the birth of Vocaloid 2 she became very popular and iconized. They even have Hologram Concert for Vocaloid whereby thousands of wotas waving and screaming frantically to a Hologram? If I had the chance I wondnt mind staring at the dancing Holographic image and enjoy the music but screaming and waving to it!!? (i can never understand it but ya is just personal preference) o.o Just to let you know Miku also did held her performance here in Singapore before.
I might want to try this synth out again when they release the English version of Miku this year Spring...
This is some other info that I would like to share with you..
Yamaha has developed a Vocaloid keyboard for Vocaloid composers which allows them to play their vocal at live shows?
but somehow I find this rather odd and 面倒くさい (troublesome)
