Homemade Pizza Dough

Time:1 hour
Been a long long time since I had a decent handmade pizza.
So Today I decided to make one myself!
No. I am not going eat those off-shelf factory frozen pizza.
Most of them taste disgusting in my opinion.

Instead of buying processed food, why not learn how to make your own pizza dough from scratch?

Make your own fresh pizza!

This recipe will only make one medium-sized pizza base..

1/2 cup warm water
1 cup plain Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
2 honey dipper of Honey/Sugar
Olive Oil (optional)
Yeast Mixture
Yeast Mixture

  1. Combine warm water, yeast and honey in a bowl.
Mix it and set it for about 5 minutes (if it foam - the yeast are working!)
  2. Pour your flour and salt into a large pot and add in your yeast mixture.
  3. Mix it into a dough
  4. Knead your dough on a flat surface until homogeneous and smooth
    Dough in a pot
  5. Put the rounded dough back in your large pot and cover it with a rag (oil the surface if you like)
  6. Always when working on foods with yeast we have to let it rise.. doesnt matter what are you making bread, naan..
The longer you let it sit the softer your dough will get. I let this set for around 45 minutes
  7. After that lightly your risen dough with flour
  8. Flatten the dough into a round pizza base
(Use what ever technique you prefer. Here's how you make a blanket.
  9. Mr Durian is not a professional pizza tosser with his "imaginary fingers" he slowly shape the dough)

    It turns out ok..

and this will be your pizza base..

On the next post I will show you how to transform this into a white pizza with spinach toppings
